It is impossible to say or write about services of Antoine-LeCoultre in few words. Antoine-LeCoultre was an extraordinary inventor who was self taught for most of his knowledge. He established his first work shop in 1833. It was a small work shop. After he invented micron in 1844, his workshop flourished. This was just the beginning of his service to ever increasing demand of time measurement. He kept on working hard in spite of the profits he was farming. Therefore in 1847 was able to invent a system that could by-pass the need for a key to rewind and set watches. The older generation of our time is witness to watches that needed manual rewinding.
Antoine LeCoultre added a simple pushbutton to cause a lever to switch from one function to another. This was way back in 1847; but Jaegers still maintains this tradition of (inventing) adding a button here or adding a leaver there, to make the watch more and more adaptable to every individual’s needs. This serves the reason for Jaeger watches to be the most user friendly watches of their time. In 1877 Antoine LeCoultre handed over the shares of his company to his three sons. And the younger generation still carries on the torch. Many more inventions and sub inventions down the pipe line were added to their father’s original model; to take the sophisticated heritage to a new level of most exquisite pieces of a legend. They created the first automatic watch in 1946. These are not ordinary watches. They are legends. So buy them if only the replica is available. Remember, the Jaeger replica watch and the Jaeger original watch look very much alike. Only a trained eye can detect any difference. The owners of this watch are advised not to bathe, dive or swim with the watch on them.
